Yasser Arafat may soon be history. When Secretary of State Colin Powell calls him and asks that he reign-in the terrorists, but does not make a similar call to the Israelis; when Powell refuses Arafat's request to send the U.S. Special Envoy to the region – you know something is up.
The United States has sent Israel a clear signal that it will not intervene to stop the Israeli military from responding to terror.
In their statements, actions and history, it ought to be clear to everyone that the declared objective of Israel's enemies is to wipe her off the map. It isn't, and never has been, about two states peacefully co-existing. It's about the Arab determination to eliminate the Jewish state. Arab states cared nothing about Palestinians until they saw they could use them to eliminate the Jews.
Let's hope we can soon say goodbye and good-riddance to Yasser Arafat, a murderer who is drenched in innocent blood.
