Building the Lord's House

Psalms 127:1: Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain (NIV).

It is easy to get caught up in the plans and goals we have for our kids.  We may, in fact, help our kids achieve incredible success—in other words; we are able to "build the house." But unless we are walking in dependence on God, these accomplishments will have no eternal value. Instead, we will have "labored in vain."

It is easy to get caught up in the glory that comes with achievements without taking time to consider if our efforts are for our glory or for His. We need to surrender our plans to God each day and allow ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit. God calls us to act, but with His goals in mind instead of ours.

Build the Lord's house and you will not be laboring in vain.
