Books I Wish I'd Read in 2008

It's depressing not because the books aren't great (see, for example, Tullian Tchividjian's list), but because it only reminds me of books I've wanted to read this year and haven't. So, here's my list of regrets with the hope that these great titles get read in '09!

1. Christless Christianity, Michael Horton
2. Don't Stop Believing, Michael Wittmer
3. The Prodigal God, Tim Keller
4. Christ and Culture Revisited, D.A. Carson
5. John Calvin: A Heart for Devotion, Doctrine and Doxology, ed. Burk Parsons
6. In My Place Condemned He Stood, J.I. Packer and friends
7. The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression, Amity Shlaes
8. Tried by War: Abraham Lincoln as Commander-in-Chief, James McPherson

There's plenty more in convicting stacks in the study. But these come to mind as personal "should-have-reads" in 2008.

All I want for Christmas is more time.
