Everything and More

Sounds like … the modern pop/rock romps of Jeremy Camp and Luna Halo meets the lighter side of The Calling and House of Heroes. At a glance … a mixture of impressive radio material and uninteresting expressions that should've been fleshed out with more originality.Track Listing Hold Me Down It's Not Over Miracle More to This Life You're Not Alone Everything and More Dance to Me Send Me a Sign In Your Eyes Breathe Off the Ground

The roots of Story Side B date back to the 2003 Exalting Him talent competition on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, when the group beat 1,400 other contestants to win the "band division." That opened many other doors for the band, leading to a five-song EP, opening for the likes of Out of Eden and Jars of Clay, and attention from various record labels. The St. Augustine, Florida based band signed with Gotee Records, and soon was in the studio recording its full-length national debut.

Everything and More, produced by J.R. McNeeley (Relient K, Jeremy Camp), is a modern pop/rock album that works at times—starting with the muscular "Hold Me Down." The track is filled with swirling guitars, a melodic center and a catchy chorus about casting aside sinful distractions. Next up is the blazing "It's Not Over" and its heavy hooks and meaty riffs, extolling the joy of being born again. The finale "Off the Ground" is also brimming with passion, resembling something from The Calling's catalog, but with a much more meaningful, spiritually centered direction.

Other songs as constructive, such as the watered-down sounds of "You're Not Alone" and the mid-tempo meandering throughout "Dance to Me," both of which make the group sound somewhat safe and sterilized. The title cut sounds like labelmates House of Heroes, though a cut below that level. As a result, Story Side B still has room to grow and establish themselves, though at least there are glimpses of promise.
