On The Cover II

Reviewed by Andrea Dawn Goforth
Style: Punk-pop in an old school style like Blink 182, Green Day, and Reliant K. Top tracks: "500 Miles" "Punk Rock Girl" "Should I Stay or Go"

In a nutshell: It's better late than never for MxPx to follow up 1995's On The Cover with a sequel, On The Cover II. With an album cover that looks exactly the same as the original—just aged 14 years—the quality of this group's sound is just as kickin' as it was back in the day. Their remakes of hit '80s and '90s songs like "500 Miles" and "Should I Stay or Should I Go" will have any child of the '80s dancing. MxPx manages not only manages to butcher the originals but also makes them their own. Although the newest generation of punksters may not bask in nostalgia, they will still appreciate the popped out rhythms and old school punk style.
