In a nutshell:Showbread is known for theatricality (remember the double-concept-album/comic book, Anorexia/Nervosa), which is intact here. The first track announces (literally) their intention to "kill you forever" with "raw rock" (a self-referential genre that pops up again on "Let There Be Raw"), but the songs occasionally suffer from synth-overdose; straight-ahead punk numbers like "I Think I'm Going to See You" feel raw-er, somehow. Vocalist Josh Dies is commanding (he's comfortable screaming and singing), though his most affecting performance is the title track, a litany of despair ("lonely people kill themselves") that somehow ends up as a worship song.
