Your Kingdom Come

Reviewed by Andrea Dawn Goforth
Style: A pop/rock groove and catchy hooks resembling Matt Kearney, Delirious, and The Fray, with lyrics stronglyinspired by the mission field Top tracks: "Hallelujah," "To The Least of These," "Every Knee Will Bow"

In a nutshell: Minister/artist Matt Papa clearly has the mission field on his mind in his new release Your Kingdom Come. Papa has a gift for writing hooky choruses like those on "Kingdom Come" and "God of Grace," but it's his passion for evangelism that takes center stage here. "To the Least of The Lease," a piano led ballad a la The Fray, is touching as Papa declares "I will love you Lord with all my heart … so I'll love the ones you love." Papa also brings a little world music intothe mixby infusingsome trackswithMiddle Eastern sounds and non-traditional instruments, like the dissonant melody and chant-like endingof opening track"Hallelujah, Our God Reigns." Coming in at 18 tracks, this album runs a little long, but Papa gives a good variety that makes each song its own.
