Living in the light of Christ’s resurrection

March 7, 2011

“He is not here, but has risen.”

Luke 24:6

Not long ago, I was watching one of those TV shows where they take a survival expert, drop him off in the middle of nowhere, and show how he gets back. And on this particular episode he was dropped in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest. As I watched him just try to survive that first night alone, I was glad it was him and not me!

Could you imagine being lost in the Amazon at night? Under all those trees, it gets so dark that you can’t even see your hand in front of your face. Every step you take is full of fear as you trudge through the muck and the mire. You lose your sense of perspective and direction, and you can’t find your way out. It’s hopeless.

But soon, dawn begins to break. So you climb up to a top of a tree as the yellow morning light shines across the jungle. And you see a path that leads to a small Amazon village at the base of a mountain!

That’s what it means to come to Jesus Christ. You’ve lost your way and you have nowhere to turn. But then, the light of his resurrection breaks through and you are led out of the darkness and into his marvelous light!

When the light of Christ’s resurrection shines in your life, you can’t resist going home to him. After that, everything changes!

WHEN CHRIST’S RESURRECTION LIGHT SHINES IN YOUR LIFE, IT CHANGES EVERYTHING. SO LIVE EACH DAY IN HIS MARVELOUS LIGHT!
