Offering Mercy

Anger restricts our vision. Anger narrows our focus, causing us to resent our mate for hurts and wounds inflicted upon us. It is then natural to review these wounds, keeping an account of all the ways we’ve been wronged. This accounting, however, creates a wall between us and our mate, and settles into our hearts like a lead weight. Offering mercy and grace, even when unmerited, lifts the veil between us and our mate, as well as between us and God. We connect again and enjoy fellowship with God and our mate. The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. “He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy for those who fear him.” (Psalm 103: 10-11).
