Whose kingdom is this anyway?

December 26, 2012

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33

You don’t have to be a historical scholar to see that every kingdom on the face of the earth has either failed, or is on its way to failure. I think of the great kingdoms of Babylon, Greece, and Rome, and I think of even those that have fallen in our lifetime, like communist regimes in Eastern Europe and many dictatorships in the Muslim world just recently.

All of the kingdoms of the world will eventually go… including America. There will come a day when our nation is no more, whether it be when Jesus returns or before. That’s because while earthly kingdoms are temporary, God’s Kingdom is eternal.

That’s exactly why God calls us to attach ourselves to His Kingdom first. You see, when Jesus came, He made it possible to experience a foretaste of the Kingdom He would ultimately bring to earth when He returns. And because of that, anyone who believes in Christ has a citizenship and an inheritance in that Kingdom.

So as the “Christmas high” winds down and real life sets in again, live in light of your heavenly citizenship. God’s Kingdom is the only one that will never end, so find your security first and foremost in who you are in Him!

LIVE YOUR LIFE IN LIGHT OF YOUR HEAVENLY CITIZENSHIP BECAUSE THAT’S THE ONLY KINGDOM THAT WILL NEVER END!

Dear Friend,

While many pastors shy away from addressing controversial issues, I sincerely believe you need to hear straight, “bulls-eye” biblical teaching on many of today’s hot topics. Not only to grow in your faith as a believer, but to give winsome, compassionate answers to the hard questions our culture is asking.

That’s why I want to send you a special new resource today – my CD series called The Best of 2012.

This series contains 10 of my most popular and compelling messages from 2012, and it’s a resource that’s sure to help you in 2013 because it includes messages such as, “Are All Religions the Same?”, “Lessons on Leadership,” and “What Is a Christian?”

The Best of 2012 is my gift to thank you for your donation to help PowerPoint continue to proclaim God’s Word and truth ’til the whole world hears. So please request your copy when you give today.
