How To Be Fulfilled By Hope

February 12, 2013

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

The Swiss theologian Emil Brunner once said, “What oxygen is to the lungs, such is hope for the meaning of human life.” Just as we can’t live without oxygen for our physical bodies, we likewise can’t live without hope, lest we suffocate mentally and spiritually. Another well-known writer put it this way: “The fate of humanity is dependent upon the supply of hope.”

Now the sad news is that the person without Jesus Christ faces a future which is nothing but a hopeless end. No wonder so many people are desperate and without hope. They don’t have Christ!

But the one who knows Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior faces a future which isn’t a hopeless end; it’s an endless hope! And we know that we’ll spend forever in eternity enjoying perfect, restored fellowship with Jesus!

God provided this wonderful hope from the very beginning. When Adam and Eve sinned against God and plunged the planet into pain, God came looking for them in the Garden and gave them the promise of a Redeemer. In the darkest of situations, God gives hope. Let that hope guide your heart and mind today and give you a purpose and a plan for life!

LIVE A MORE FUFILLING LIFE BY LETTING GOD’S HOPE – RATHER THAN DESPAIR – GUIDE YOUR HEART AND MIND EACH AND EVERY DAY!
