An Honest Appraisal

Studies have shown that we are generally more critical of others than we are ourselves. We hold others to higher standards than we set for ourselves. In such a world it can be hard for us to get an honest appraisal of ourselves. How are we to know what we should be working on and what we need to change? It is important that we seek opportunities where we can view ourselves and know what we must change to be the best version of ourselves possible. We are all sinners and in need of change. Scripture tells us, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us” (I John 1:8) .
