Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

There is only one way of life worth living, and that is the life lived for God!

As you read the book of Ecclesiastes, it is clear that Solomon was conducting a big experiment with his life. He was trying out everything that people live for to see if it had value, to see if it brought meaning to life. As he experimented, he crossed one option after another off his list of potentially meaningful ways of life. He published his findings in the book of Ecclesiastes.

The conclusion to all his experiments is given in just two verses — the final two verses of the book, given above. “Fear God.” God wants you to respect Him and put Him first in your life, to trust Him completely. “And keep His commandments.” God wants you to live for Him, to obey Him and honor Him in your life.

God has designed you so that your life only has meaning when you live this way. At the end of your life you will be accountable to God for how you lived. Even our “hidden” acts will be brought to light. You will never be sorry you chose to live God’s way.
