If you are anything like me, you turn the calendar up to the next year and January, February and March just seem to drag on with winter weather and gray skies. However, with the spring showers of April and the flowers of May it soon becomes an all-out sprint to summer, which passes by even faster. So, is there any way to get off the treadmill of life without crashing?
Society seems to scream, “No”. If there is space in your calendar, then you and your family are simply not involved enough. It is seen as a flaw, something many of us, including myself, are afraid to admit. However, it that what God says?
There are numerous scriptures throughout the Bible where God is saying we need to find rest in Him. He provided the perfect example for us when He rested on the seventh day after creating the world. Christ applied the same principle during His ministry on Earth. He would go off and rest and commune with God.
It is one thing to know we need rest, but it is another to actually make a point of setting time aside. Imagine your day as a sheet of notebook paper. You will notice there are lines one each side and along the top providing margins. You and I must find times in the course of the day to go to those “white spaces” and just sit at God’s feet and rest. He longs to pour into us, but can’t if we are too busy to stand still.
Find Rest in God today.
Take Out:
Your challenge is to take a picture or describe your “white space” in the comment section. Once you have identified it, strive to find it at least once every day to refuel and strengthen yourself.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You worn out today. I know that no matter what circumstance I am facing in my life You promise to be right by my side. I have the confidence to know that I can come to You at any hour of the day and that You will not only hear my prayer, my cries for help, but You will answer. I long to draw closer to You this week and find the rest my body and soul long for. May I silence the shouts of the world around me to hear Your still small voice. In Your Precious Name, Amen.
