The Journey with Ron Moore

God in the Desert | Psalm 107:33-38

Today's Passage: Psalm 107:33-38
Key Verses: Psalm 107:35-36

He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.

The desert. Hot. Dry. Thirsty. Blistering heat during the day; cold at night. No place to rest. No place for protection. Exposed. Vulnerable. Miserable.

Have you ever walked through the desert . . . your personal one? Spiritual dryness. Pain during the day; anxiety during the night. A secret sin exposed. A character flaw uncovered. A thirsty soul. Only mirages of water.

The desert. The place where God shows up. He takes the dry stretches and brings refreshment with pools of water. He sees our thirsty souls and sends satisfying springs. He feeds our famished hearts. He brings us to places of rest. Don't despise the desert. God does his best work there.

Father, come to me in my desert place. Quench my thirst. Feed my soul. Drive away my spiritual dryness with your presence. Bring me to a place of rest. In Jesus' name. Amen.
