Martin Luther King Jr. Day

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. - Galatians 3:28

Today we celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. We remember his passion filled speech, Let Freedom Ring. He dreamed of a day when people would accept one another for their character and not for their color. Martin Luther King Jr. lived in a time when there was still so much racial division and oppression. He spoke out saying: “I say to you that our goal is freedom and I believe we are going to get there because however much she strays away from it, the goal of America is freedom.”

America is known as the “Land of the Free”, welcoming many who seek asylum from oppression and tyranny. Our great country was founded upon Christian principles and they are reflected in the Declaration of Independence:  All men are created equal in the sight of God that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights ...

The Civil Rights issue has already been answered in the message of the Gospel, in Christ Jesus we are all one. Think about that, we are seen by Him as being the same with no distinction of race, gender or status. In Christ we are free of sin, the hatred and racial divisions can all be replaced by the love of God (1 John 4:7-10).

Oppressors today, attempt to twist civil right issues to fit their sinful lifestyle and force others to change in accepting them. Radical Islam has continued to wage war on people, enslaving them or killing them if they do not bow to their ideology. They too need freedom!

Youshall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
~Jesus~
