President’s Day
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice;
but when a wicked man rules, the people groan. - Proverbs 29:2
President’s Day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. It was originally established in 1885, in recognition of President George Washington. In fact, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government, even though February 22, is Washington’s actual day of birth. The holiday became known as President’s Day after it became a part of 1968 Monday Holiday law, to provide more three-day weekends.Congress hoped to "bring substantial benefits to both the spiritual and economic life of the Nation."
While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, President’s Day is viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present.
Imagine, this year a new president will be elected. We have the opportunity to vote for a righteous man and not a wicked person. It is important to use God’s discernment when you cast your vote, so in the days to come we can rejoice and not weep. The Bible tells us: The wicked man does deceptive work (Proverbs 11:18), whereas:The righteous man walks in his integrity (Proverbs 20:7).

between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
