Missed Blessings
I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more! - 2 Samuel 12:8
Through the Prophet Nathan, the Lord continued to remind David what He had done for him. God had established him as the reigning King over Israel and Judah; he had replaced King Saul, who had been his master. David’s strength and success came from the Lord.
God had blessed David immensely and He would have given him even more, but his disobedience to God’s Word held back the hand of God from blessing him any further until he repented. If only he would have stayed in God’s perfect will and not given into his flesh.
God loves us and desires to bless His people. As we walk with Him in obedience, we will not miss out on any of His awesome blessings that He has planned for us in the future:
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” - (1 Corinthians 2:9).
I believe with all my heart that many Christians have missed out on the blessings that God had fully intended for their lives because they chose to walk in willful disobedience. It is important to obey God’s Word and not foolishly miss out on His abundant blessings.
All Christ’s gifts are like Himself spiritual and heavenly.
