One is a soft-spoken member of the American clergy. The other is an international rock star, known throughout the world for his creative talent and philanthropy. These two men couldn’t possibly be more different, yet they both share one important quality: a deep and abiding love for the Psalms. The unlikely friendship between U2’s Bono and author Eugene Peterson has now become the subject of a short film by Fuller Theological Seminary’s Fuller Studio. The video, titled The Psalms, recounts how the two men first met, and features in in-depth conversation on ways the gospel has impacted their lives.
Given that Peterson has devoted his life to translating the Psalms, a book Bono attributes much of his music to, what follows is a fascinating look into the heart and mind of scripture. Take a moment to watch the video below. What you’ll find is worth your time!
