Making Your Life Work? Thursday, November 10th 2016
"Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma."
God wants your life to be blessed with grace and peace, light and love. Your life does not have to to be all work and loaded with burdens hard to bear. Your nights and days don't have to be filled with worry and fear. God has given you a better way!
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus gives us the open 'secret of life' when He tells us "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." God made the offer, He has promised to fulfill it and God always keeps His promises.
Jesus also says, "Come to Me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matt. 11:28-29
So if you are weary and burdened with a load of care, go spend time with Jesus in prayer and make your requests known to Him. Thank Him. Trust Him. The peace of God will guard your heart and mind! Jesus could not be more clear when He says, in Me you will have peace, in the world you will have tribulation. So... time to choose. Do you want peace or tribulation? Do you want to live your own way, like the world, and have tribulation? Or seek the kingdom first, follow God and have peace?
Choose Jesus. Stop making your life... work.
Life Lesson: If YOU are trying to make your life work... you are making your life WORK!
Thank You for Your offer of peace and rest in Jesus. Help me to trust You, and to come to You and lay my burdens down. Help me to walk in love, always remembering how Christ loved me and gave Himself for me. Please forgive me for trying to make my life work in my own strength and understanding. Thank You for the refreshment and the rest and the guidance and the wisdom that You have for me. I choose Jesus! and it's in His name I pray, amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
