Proverbs 11:30-31

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise. If the righteous is repaid on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!”

Your response to God impacts on your life here and now!

Sometimes we get the impression that we will experience the consequences (good or bad) of our present way of life in eternity, but that here and now we can just live however we want and escape the laws of consequences. But one of the greatest themes of the book of Proverbs is that our lives now will experience the blessing of right living or the pain of wrong living.

As you look at your own life experiences, don’t you see the truth of this principle at work?

While dishonesty may bring you some immediate financial gain, it will also bring inner turmoil, feelings of guilt, and relational conflict. While speaking the truth in love and challenging a friend about something in their lives that is not honouring to God is difficult, it brings with it the benefit of knowing you have done what is right, and the joy of helping someone grow spiritually.

Today, God wants you to know that what is best for your life right now is to do what’s right. Do you believe that? Will you act on it? God promises to reward you.
