Is Dating Wrong?

I don't think the idea of dating is wrong, but I'll say this, that I think a big ... I think it can be something that is unhelpful or unwise, depending on the motives. The idea of it? I don't think it's wrong, but I think there's some key things to think about the topic, and that would be what is your motive in dating?

If you're dating to just kind of, in a sense ... if you're dating for selfish purposes just because you want to get something out of it, and it could be mental, emotional, sexual, then your motive is off track with the Lord.

So then thinking about the process of dating, again I personally believe that dating can be a great wise, holy thing to be involved in, if you're looking that as a way to pursue with God's wisdom, a mate, a spouse. The other thing I would add to this about dating is that Hebrews 13:4, I think is a great verse for married and unmarried. It says that marriage is to be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, and so that means for those of us that are single, and I'm a single woman, I'm to live now honoring marriage. I'm also to live now in such a way that if God would bring me through dating into a marriage relationship, that I'm living now that I would enter into that without ... with as few regrets as possible.

So, is dating wrong? Absolutely not. Could it be participated in from selfish purposes? Absolutely. Could it be participated in, in a way that really honors Christ? Absolutely, but depends on your motive and the way you go about it.
