A Wrinkle in Time, the classic children’s book by Madeleine L’Engle, has been made into a major motion picture which will be released in theaters this Friday, March 9th. The 14-year-old star of the film, Storm Reid, identifies as a Christian and said God has called her into acting.

Reid plays the main character of the story, Meg Murry, who embarks on a quest to find her missing father. According to The Christian Post, Reid, who is from Atlanta, Georgia, told her mother, “I wanna be on TV. I wanna be a superstar! Since I know this is my passion and I feel like God chose this career for me, I just knew I was ready to do it."

Reid also starred in the 2014 best picture film 12 Years a Slave. At only 14, she has already worked with some of Hollywood’s most well-known stars, including Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey who are her co-stars in A Wrinkle in Time.

She also worked with Christian actor David Oyelowo on the upcoming film Only You. She told Dazed Digital that Oyelowo gave her a “mustard-seed bracelet” with Matthew 17:20 on it.

She explained the significance of this verse: "In the Bible, it's said that if you have faith as small as a grain of a mustard seed, God will move mountains. It means if you have faith this small then God's got your back."
