SAUL WAS LOOKING FOR LOST DONKEYS WHEN HE WAS ANOINTED

Warriors, have you ever felt like you are just way to “off course” for things to turn around?

One day, not too long ago, I was choosing to keep my thoughts focused in faith. In the physical sense, I was beginning to wonder when and how things would and could possibly come together for me and my family. But then, I stumbled upon a little known fact…

Saul was looking for lost donkeys when he was anointed.

1Sa 9:3Now the donkeys belonging to Saul’s father Kish were lost, and Kish said to his son Saul, “Take one of the servants with you and go and look for the donkeys.”

For reasons such as these, I get really excited about the Word of God! Who knows how many times I’ve read Chapter 9 of I Samuel, but this particular divine donkey-point never stuck out to me until now. The Word of God is alive and active, always accomplishing what God sends it forth to accomplish (Hebrews 4:12). Isn’t that exciting? At any given point in time, the Holy Spirit can cause certain words or phrases in the Bible to jump off the page and leap for joy in the nucleus of your faith much like John the Baptist did in Elizabeth’s womb when Mary entered with Jesus in her womb. This encounter in Luke 1:41 is another exciting encounter.

For now, I will simply share how my faith was greatly increased upon hearing that Saul was looking for mere donkeys when he was anointed King.

1Sa 9:27As they were going down to the edge of the town, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on ahead of us”—and the servant did so—“but you stay here awhile, so that I may give you a message from God.”

1Sa 10:1Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on Saul’s head and kissed him, saying, “Has not the LORD anointed you leader over his inheritance?

In the most straightforward terms I will say that since God was directing Saul’s steps toward his destiny, despite what it looked like in donkey terms, I know that I know that I know that God is directing me! And, He’s directing you.

So, today, let’s say together, “Donkeys or so it merely seems, our God reigns from on High, and we will follow our Heavenly Father’s direction, Amen, amen, and amen!”

As Warriors, we continue to do what God is calling us to do for His Name’s sake. He is our motivation. He is our strength. He is our Warrior, our Counselor, Our Savior, Our Friend and our eternal King, both now and forever more!
