Be Ready

“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Matthew 24:44

Basically, being ready for Christ’s return is having Him be Lord of your life. Yet, spiritually speaking, a lot of people are sleeping. In Luke 21:36, we are exhorted to watch and pray. There is so much in God’s Word that has already come to pass. We must continue to study God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation.

People ask a lot of questions about the events predicted in the Bible. The key to the seven last years of history is the Rapture of the Church. The Scriptures tell us that there will be a generation that will never die:…in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (1 Corinthians 15:52).People will be disappearing; they will go to heaven.  Imagine the chaos on earth!

Every time I go to Israel, I sit on the Mount of Olives and think about Christ’s return. The Bible tells us that when Jesus returns, He will step on the Mount of Olives, and the Mount will cleave in two, releasing a stream of water that will flow backwards into the Dead Sea. Nothing has lived in the Dead Sea––the water is too salty––but when Jesus returns, there will be fish! I have never doubted what has been spoken in the Scriptures.

Every day is a New Year for me because I have a relationship with Christ. I am so glad that God has given me another New Year to live. I give God thanks for all He has done in my life. Think about what God has done in your own life, and do not forget to give God thanks.

He that has come once is to come again. He will come a second time. The Lord will come. He will come again, for He has promised to return. We have His own word for it. That is our first reason for expecting Him.
