We’re thrilled that Walt Disney Animation Studios is rolling out a fresh 2019 sequel to the “Best Animated Film” Academy Award® winner Frozen, in its latest: Frozen 2.
Opening in U.S. theaters November 22, 2019, Frozen 2 shares the adventures of Elsa the Snow Queen, her sister Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf as they travel far into the forest. Their quest is to reveal the truth regarding an ancient mystery within their kingdom.
The movie is directed and produced by an Academy Award® winning team: Jennifer Lee (Director) of Wreck-It Ralph and Zootopia; Chris Buck (Director) of Surf’s Up and Tarzan; and Peter Del Vecho (Producer) of The Princess and the Frog. It features the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad; and the music of Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ first Frozen movie, released in 2013, won the Academy Award® for Best Animated Film. So, expectations are high for a groundbreaking experience that will invigorate the spirits and melt the hearts of viewers everywhere.
Frozen (2013) also received an Academy Award® for Best Original Song ("Let It Go"), as well as a Golden Globe, BAFTA Award, and five Annie Awards including Best Feature and the Critics' Choice Award.
Story details for Frozen 2 are not yet revealed, but according to DigitalSpy, actor Kristen Bell said: “The story is great…It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging, and I think they found it.” DigitalSpy added that rumors include a love story for Olaf, or a discovery that Anna and Elsa aren’t really biological sisters.
You’ll have to watch Frozen 2 to be part of the discovery!
