Blamelessness
“Here I am. Witness against me before the Lord and before His anointed: Whose ox have I taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed, or from whose hand have I received any bribe with which to blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.” And they said, “You have not cheated us or oppressed us, nor have you taken anything from any man’s hand.”
1 Samuel 12:3-4
As Samuel continued his farewell speech, he separated his life from his wife and children, to give a sole account of himself, “I am here.” Samuel’s life was an open book to people; he showed himself to be blameless and made himself accountable to them.
Samuel was pretty bold! He declared before God, King Saul and the people, that if he was guilty of any theft, cheating, oppression, or receiving a bribe from anyone, he wanted to make it right in their presence. He asked, “Have I done anything to anyone?” He gave an opportunity for anyone to speak up in the presence of them all. However, if all agreed with his testimony, and that he stood before them blameless, then they were to say, “Amen.”
Sometimes Christians can be guilty of oppressing others, cheating, and being deceitful. That is not right in the eyes of God. Seriously, what will people find out about you? When the real truth comes out about your hidden sin, they will be disappointed. Remember, one day we shall have to give an account before God. The book of our lives will be opened and read. We all need a good testimony and to end our lives well. Allow God to do a work in your life, so you can be blameless before God and men.
Memorize Acts 24:16, place your name in this verse, and make a practice of it daily in your life.
