Somebody Loves You - February 28, 2019

God is our Witness

Then he said to them, “The Lord is witness against you, and His anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand.” And they answered, “He is witness.”
1 Samuel 12:5

Notice Samuel’s heart; he stood before God, King Saul and the people with a clear conscience. During his lifetime, he did was right before God and the people. They were called to test his life and be a witness before the Lord––who could strike Samuel dead! They all bore witness that he had served God with all his heart.

We need to have a heart like Samuel. Before people, we need to have a testimony that we have served God with all our heart. Take some time to mediate––think on––these important verses about serving the Lord:

It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him(Deuteronomy 13:4 NIV).

“…love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Joshua 22:5 NIV).

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord(Romans 12:11 NIV).

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain

(1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV).

We need to recognize we have a great responsibility to serve the Lord and to have a testimony that is blameless––fully and completely.

If we desire to become leaders for God, we must give ourselves totally to the Lord and obey whatever orders He gives us.
