Chick-fil-A is working to make sure that customers celebrating Lent can still come to eat at the Christian fast-food chicken joint by offering fish.
During Lent, according to Catholic tradition, those participating in Lent cannot eat meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all subsequent Fridays leading up to Easter. Some, however, choose fish as an acceptable alternative for meats like chicken, beef, and pork.
According to CBN News, select Chick-fil-A locations will be offering fish until the end of Lent – April 20 – out of respect for customers participating in the tradition.
Reportedly the locations will offer a selection of fish dishes including a fish sandwich, a deluxe fish sandwich and boxed 2 and 3 count fish entrees and meals.
According to Today, the chicken restaurant has been offering the “Lenten Fish” since 2015 at some locations and many people appear excited to have Fish back on the menu.

In a recent interview with CBN News, Trudy Cathy White – daughter of Chick-fil-A’s founder Truitt Cathy – shared that her Dad taught her the importance of helping people get what they need. She said, “Dad helped me understand this concept that we can look at others and see what their needs are and help them to accomplish what they want to accomplish, and we'll find some great reward out of that. Jesus said it real simple. He said, 'It's better to give than to receive'."
Chick-fil-A is encouraging those interested in trying their Cod sandwiches to “contact their local restaurant directly to determine if it is offering Lenten Fish” since only select locations will be offering it and it will not be available on the app or on the restaurant’s online menu.
