It’s the Manager Part II
Gallup’s new book, “It’s the Manager,” uncovers several findings that point to the critical nature of hiring the right managers. One factor is understanding why engagement is so important.
Gallup highlights that in previous decades workers ranked their family, having children, owning a home and living in peace as priorities that came in above having a good job. But in 2002 that trend changed. A rewarding job now ranks first.
A worker’s engagement level can fall dramatically if their job feels unrewarding. Good managers have learned how to inspire the uninspired.
Proverbs 20:5 teaches, “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”
Flourishing businesses in the future will have discerning managers who infect their team with a sense of purpose.
