Soul Camp- 3

Soul Camp- 3

Thought- God wants to give us all the longings in our soul, the question is will we let Him?

Scripture- “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.” – Deuteronomy 4:29”

“Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.” – Joshua 23:14

Insight: – Today we will finish up our 3-day discussion on Soul Camp, a bootcamp for you soul, which is designed to offer the same success plan that a trainer provides at a gym for your body, only for the restoration and revitalization of your soul. Much like a trainer provides at the gym, the first day we have discussed an assessment process for determining the state of your soul through 10 basic questions, then yesterday we discussed a process for success in healing your soul that included biblical alignment, diving into scripture with purpose and consistency and seeking a more intimate relationship with God through seeking, praying, listening and meditation upon His word. Today we want to focus on maximum performance of our souls for a content and peaceful existence free from the ravages of the stressful world we live in. Again, this is mostly an honest and introspective process that helps you live out the purposes for which you were created. When you find that sweet spot, life shifts from a struggle to a parade in a hurry. Beauty exists everywhere in the Universe, but we must walking in the light to see it. If we are bogged down with heavy souls, we will surely miss it.

Take time with God to contemplate a few critical questions. This is a critical step to finding “your purpose driven life,” as Pastor Rick Warren referred to it. I see it as the life you were meant to live when your body, mind and soul are all aligned to produce maximum results for the purpose for which you were created. Start with this short list:

  1. What was I created for? If you aren’t clear on this, it is hard to have a clear, light soul. Augustine said, “all men are restless until they find the purpose for which they were created.” I can certainly agree with that as it has been a struggle deep in my soul until I sought God’s answer for why I was created.
  2. God, what do you want to achieve in and through me? This may take time but there are many scriptures to pray to help you seek God’s will for your life. One of my favorites is Psalm 32:8 which says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
  3. How have the past experiences of my life prepared me for my future assignments? This is uniquely personal and will require meditation and work to honestly assess the lessons that may keep repeating in your life or where you have been nudged onto a new path.
  4. How can I use the gifts you have given me to best glorify your name? This one requires a surrendered pride and relinquishing of our “selfish” desires in order to accomplish the bigger purpose for which we were born. This was hard for me, and I still wrestle with my own “fleshly” desires, but when I am fully surrendered, I am at the most peaceful and contented state deep in my soul and I am able to gain maximum results because I am in complete alignment with my higher purpose.

These questions may take some time and only God can answer them, so be intent on praying and listening. When He shows you the right path for your life, your soul will be in such alignment that life will seem weightless instead of a heavy slog. When He speaks, listen and obey and you will be glad you did as your soul comes alive inside of you and all the fear melts away.

Prayer: Father God, show us the right path to take for our lives, they are all unique and wonderfully designed by you for us, but until we find them, we are restless and heavy burdened. We want to reach a state of peace and contentment where we can achieve maximum results for your Kingdom. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
