Thought- Who do you trust more, the media or the Bible?
Scripture- “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.” Ephesians 2:2
Insight: One of the names given to the devil in the Bible is “Prince of the air.” In the verse above from Ephesians 2:2, it refers to the “ruler of the Kingdom of the air” who is also the devil. He masquerades in slick ways to use the media to stir up discontent and spread false information which slanders the name of Jesus Christ, one of his main tactics, all over the world. The media today is falling hook, line and sinker into his disinformation campaign regarding Christ and His followers. In today’s media, truth becomes fiction and falsehood becomes truth. Isaiah 5:20 warns against those who pervert the truth of the Gospel message and use their position to attack the Christian faith when it says “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. That is exactly what is happening in today’s main stream media, many newspapers and countless radio programs. A smear campaign against Christ and His followers is well underway, with the sole purpose of neutering that element of American Society for purely political purposes and a historic power grab by those who disdain anything to do with God.
Don’t believe me? Just think of the hypocrisy of the following: I am a true-blue American who loves my Country and the Judeo- Christian values we were founded on and the good we have done in the world to help many of the less fortunate with our time, treasure and talents and many times with the blood of our service men and women. I am married to my first wife, have two children and a dog whom I love dearly, and who tries my best to be a blessing to those I encounter who need help. I support kids in Mexico, so they don’t get placed into Orphanages and a Ministry in Uganda that serves over 500 orphaned children. I send money to ministries that support people I have never met before in Romania, so they don’t starve, in Pakistan to avoid Political and religious persecution and in California to feed the homeless. I try to be a good neighbor and mostly stay in my own lane and mind my own business. And I love Jesus Christ and am so thankful for His Sacrificial Love and death on the cross that saved me, a sinner, from what my sins deserved so I could have eternal life. So, how am I labeled in today’s mainstream media? Well to them that makes me a xenophobic, homophobic, narrow minded, racist, bigoted, right wing zealot. Does that make sense to you? Only the devil himself could cause such confusion and mislabeling to occur in our world. Enough said!
Prayer: Father God, please thwart the enemy’s plans and real in the destruction he is causing through many of the media platforms of this world. Lives are being destroyed and anger and violence are being stirred up because of his rhetoric and false betrayal of Jesus Christ and Christians. Let your love so shine through us that the darkness is totally enveloped and exposed for its fraudulent lies. We pray for the power of Christ to come reigning down on earth and use those same media platforms to share His gospel message which leads to salvation for millions of lost souls. Amen!
