God’s Divine Purposes
Then David said to him, “To whom do you belong, and where are you from?” And he said, “I am a young man from Egypt, servant of an Amalekite; and my master left me behind, because three days ago I fell sick. We made an invasion of the southern area of the Cherethites, in the territory which belongs to Judah, and of the southern area of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.”
1 Samuel 30:13-14
David immediately questioned the young Egyptian man who was found by his men. He let David know who he was; it so happened that he was an Egyptian servant of an Amalekite. As a slave, his Amalekite master treated him with little care––he had no value. When he became sick; showing no compassion for him, his master left him to die.
The Egyptian slave answered David’s questions and gave him important information. He told him of the battles the Amalekites had been fighting, the invasion into the areas of the Cherethites, and the burning of Ziklag. As the Egyptian spoke to David, he did not know that the captives taken from Ziklag belonged to David and his men.
Imagine, God had allowed this Egyptian servant to fall sick, so the Amalekites would leave him behind, so that he could be found by David’s men. He became an informer who would help David to fight the battle and take back all the captives which included David’s wives. God had a divine purpose in all that was happening.
Understand, God has people who are placed in strategic positions to help us win the battle. It is amazing how God does the work. He will prepare the way for the victory.
Everything God does has purpose and intention behind that design. It is a master design, and every little thing has its proper place and function.
