One Day or Day One? – Beloved Women – May 11, 2020

READ:One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.” (Romans 14:5 ESV)

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT:  I’ve wanted to go on a Mediterranean cruise for years. However, without a plan or accountability, many of my dreams rarely include a step of faith.

But "one day" stays on my mind. You may have your own endless loop of what could be. However, I’ve learned someday never comes, if each day is labeled with procrastination.

My determination, discipline and focus long for something better. They are all rooting for Day One.  It’s the starting point for a new goal or a new outlook. It’s the first step of faith to the last thing I believed about God.

I am fully convinced each day He gives us new mercies. Every day is an opportunity to experience more of His grace and truth.

Today is a good day to start believing Him for more or believing in Him again. “One day” may ignite my imagination, but Day One puts feet on my faith.

As we move forward in God’s will, He revives lost dreams, repairs broken hearts and eclipses our guilt and shame with His gift of salvation. (Romans 10:9-12)

Whether I’m on a Mediterranean cruise or not, these are the realities I want to embrace every day.

PRAY: Dear God, Today is a gift from You. Forgive me for allowing procrastination or pride to give me a “one day" mentality, instead of a Day One resolve to do Your will. Grant me courage and wisdom as I take my next steps of faith. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

REFLECT:  What level of accountability do you need to begin your next “Day One?”
