Glory in Tribulations

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Romans 5:3-5

Paul gloried in tribulation as a Christian. Even though life was rough, he had learned to persevere through his trials, and so must we! Trials develop Christian character––perseverance. Notice, it is the Holy Spirit who fills us with God’s hope, peace and love. These are three essentials needed in the life of a believer; otherwise, none of us could survive this life. The Holy Spirit works in such an amazing way. He teaches us, unites and comforts us, so we can fully experience God’s love, grace and peace.

In my life, I have a weakness. I suffer with seizures. Yet I know the Lord is with me. I have His peace and comfort, knowing He has a plan for my life. I realize Satan wants me out of the way––to stop me from speaking the Word of God boldly. Despite this trial, I persevere. I desire the Lord would continue to use my life, to make an impact for the kingdom of God. In my heart, I am compelled to share the love of God with others.

I believe we are living in very dangerous days––spiritually. These are the last days, and knowing the times, I see things are happening very fast. Yet I have noticed people’s lives are growing cold toward the Lord. Christians need to remain alert and aware of the many opportunities to share God’s love and His Word. They need to persevere more than ever before, continuing to be busy living for Christ and witnessing for Him.

Look around you. People are so empty and miserable; they do not know the love of God. Despite your tribulations, God will use them for His glory, as you share with others the love, peace, grace and comfort of God.

The gospel is the gospel of a happy God, because he now has an ever-growing family of those who by faith share the perfect life of his perfect Son.
