Christ Died for Sinners!

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:6-8

Paul beautifully described the love of God. When sinners needed God’s love, He came through. God saw the need for mankind’s salvation––the need for His love––and, in due time, sent His Only Begotten Son to earth. How did God’s Son demonstrate His love to us? By giving His life! Can you believe it! How many of us would die for somebody else?

God’s love suffers long and is kind. It is never greedy or anxious. It does not destroy; the love of God is always poured out on people. God’s love is always forgiving, and it is there when we need it the most––no matter what! Read Paul’s description of perfect love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. If we place our names into these verses, our love fails. Only Christ’s name can perfectly fit the description of love:

[Christ’s] Love suffers long and is kind; [Christ’s] love does not envy; [Christ’s] love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. [Christ’s] Love never fails….

In times of great need, people should be calling out to God to help them. When they come into His presence, they should be upfront about their sins––repenting and confessing their sins to Him. God will forgive people and transform their lives. These are difficult days where people need to know the Lord in such an intimate way––through relationship.

Christians! Keep the message of the Gospel going and going until the Lord comes back.

To know that God knows everything about me and yet loves me is indeed my ultimate consolation.
