I Am Filled with the Holy Spirit
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—” John 14:16
My prayer journal is full of pages asking God for wisdom over something going on in my life. And in my children’s ministry days, we also talked with the kids about God giving us wisdom to make right choices. I brought the Holy Spirit into these conversations by asking things like, “Have you ever made a bad choice? Like maybe you lied to or disobeyed your mom, then felt something inside of you cringe (I would even grimace here) and your heart felt sad?”
Every kid would nod because they could relate to defying their mother, and I’d explain that was the Holy Spirit helping them to make a decision that would make Him happy.
The Holy Spirit is our Helper and Advocate. He gives us the words to speak and wisdom for our days. We don’t have to fear what’s ahead because as Christ-followers, we have what we need to help us get through all challenges, and our Helper remains with us, never-changing, forever.
Let this promise give you peace whenever you face trials and hardships today and tomorrow. With the Holy Spirit living inside, you have all you need to live victoriously.
