Love and Truth – Beloved Women – August 20, 2020
READ: “The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” (Acts 17:10 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: We live in a world where everyone has an opinion, a blog, a social media page or movement that they are supporting. As Believers, we need to seek the Truth of God’s Word so that we know Him and Follow Him, and not people or movements. Truth and love go hand and hand. One without the other is not truth. When we are not in the Word, we are in danger of following a lie or twisted truth. We must be like the Bereans in Acts 1; for they were of noble character, received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
May we seek out the truth and study the Scripture for ourselves. The only way to know our Shepherd is to be in His Word and have ongoing fellowship with our Father in Heaven. Sundays are not enough. We need Him every day. He is our Bread of Life. He is always available, and He says if you seek Him, you will find Him. May we have zeal to seek His truth and not substitute His truth with the lies of the world.
PRAY: Lord Jesus, help me to speak the truth in love and help me to not compromise the truth of Your Word. Give me zeal and passion for Your Word and may I seek Your Truth in all areas of my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
