Fragile Hearts, Faithful God – Beloved Women – September 28, 2020

READ: "He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together." (Colossians 3:17 ESV)

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: The world has been swirling in a perfect storm. A pandemic, protests, and politics wedge themselves between us. They demand we stay apart so we can stay healthy or stay hostile.

With all we have experienced, a lot has grown fragile. However, as we grapple with our emotions, we are not left alone. We can fall into the arms of our faithful God.

A heavy sigh or stream of tears are magnets for His comfort. Long before the cruel virus or any other crisis appeared on the globe, God held the world in His redemptive grasp. He still does.

He holds heavy hearts burdened with loneliness or grief.

He holds strained relationships stretched by disappointment.

He holds anxious minds battling fear of the unknown.

If there is pain or a problem that seems bigger than our faith, feelings of overwhelm are also signs of an opportunity.

We may not understand everything that happens, but we can learn how to stand in God’s strength. We can seek His wisdom for our next steps. Those steps may be different for each of us. But any of us can find purpose and healing in the arms of our faithful God.

PRAY:  Dear God, You hold all of creation together and You’re holding me right now. Thank You for meeting me where I’m fragile and strengthening me with Your love. As I rest in You, restore me and lead me in my next steps for Your glory, in Jesus’s name, Amen.

REFLECT:  How might God use what you see as fragile to help you trust His strength?

SHARE: We may not understand everything that happens, but we can learn how to stand in God’s strength.
