A Scripturally Balanced Marriage

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
Ephesians 5:22-24

In a marriage relationship, God’s Word gives balance and freedom to husbands and wives. A married couple will need to take heed to all the Scriptures that pertain to marriage. Husbands and wives would do well to read all these instructive Scriptures together. In doing so, they will understand their individual roles. A husband needs to understand his wife’s emotional needs as she is the weaker vessel:

Husbands, likewise, dwell with them [wives] with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered (1 Peter 3:7).

If a husband is not in a right relationship with his wife, then how can God answer his prayers? He cannot! If a husband harbors any bitterness in his heart against his wife, it will hinder his prayers. Another exhortation for marriage is found in Colossians 3:19: Husband’s, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.

In sincerity, let me say, woman have an extremely hard job. They are constantly taking care of their husbands, children and homes. Women who work in secular jobs still have to take care of all these things. God bless these women! They have a lot of dedication and patience.

Maybe you are a wife who is not being loved or built up by your husband. Instead you are being torn down––unappreciated. God sees all things. He knows your labors of love and kindness. Jesus keeps the records. He is the One who wants you to know He loves you. He will protect you and watch over you! If your husband is not your spiritual leader, then Jesus will become your head––leader. Jesus will nourish you as you nourish yourself in His Word. That is important to understand.

Nothing can bring a real sense of security into a home except true love.
