Demonic Deception

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron....
1 Timothy 4:1-2

Satan is smart. He misquotes Scripture to try and deceive people. Deception can come through false religions. Occults such as Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons only use half-Scriptures. People become deceived because they do not know the Scriptures. They readily believe what is falsely taught. Understand ...Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Christians face warfare daily. Every believer will continue in this spiritual battle until Jesus Christ returns again. Not only are Christians facing the world, the flesh and the devil, but every demonic foe is against a child of God (Romans 6, 1 Peter 5:8, 1 John 2:16). Often young people do not have the strength or power to overcome temptation. If they fail to be in the Word of God, they have no defense against the enemy. They need to learn to fight the enemy. Under the pressure of temptation, there is always a door of escape for the Christian (1 Corinthians 10:13). In any conflict, the Word of God will sustain them.

Surely there is a lot of demonic oppression and depression in the world. In some countries, more than in others, there is a great amount of demon possession. People are tormented by demons. In one of my classes, a professor taught that at the beginning of Jesus’ life there was a lot of demonic activity, but this activity would increase and become more intense in the last days.

During the Great Tribulation period, demons who are bound will be released (Revelation 9:14-15), and: ...unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake [the Jews] those days will be shortened (Matthew 24:22).

We are not doomed to an ultimate conflict with no hope of resolution. The message of the Scripture is one of victory – full, final and ultimate victory. It is not our doom that is certain, but Satan’s. His head has been crushed by the heel of Christ, who is the Alpha and Omega.
