Do you Have God’s Strength?
...be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:10-11
The book of Ephesians can be compared to the book of Joshua. These two books can be read together. Joshua is a book of battles. As the children of Israel exited the wilderness and came into the Promised Land, there were battles to fight. There were battles to be fought and won against giants and many other enemies. God fought Israel’s battles!
Christians must endure spiritual battles every single day of their lives. We have victory only when we put on the full armor of God. It is through God’s strength that we can have victories in our battles. Paul’s call to a believer is a call to spiritual strength––to be able to face the enemy––not turn their back and run. If you do not have the whole armor of God with His power and strength, then you are no match for Satan.
King David faced many battles in his life. In Psalm 68:35, he confidently said of his God: O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God! Consider what else David said in the book of Psalms and be encouraged as you stand to fight your battles:
Psalm 27:1: The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 29:11: The LORD will give strength to His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace.
Psalm 37:39: But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble.
Are you going through times of trouble? God will comfort you! If you are lacking power and strength in your life, ask the Lord for the power of the Holy Spirit and His strength for the battles ahead. The Lord is on your side.
I will love You, O LORD, my strength.
