You Are Not Alone
“ ‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ ”
Isaiah 41:10
From our last study, in Ephesians 6:10-18, we had an in-depth teaching about spiritual warfare, but know this battle is not fought alone. When we are fighting against the enemy, sometimes it may feel like we are fighting on our own. Yet there are other believers who are standing with us. They are fighting in prayer alongside us, standing against the enemy’s attacks. It is so good to know other people are praying for us.
If you are a believer attending Calvary Chapel Golden Springs, know there are people praying for you in Philadelphia, New York, in Chile Colombia, Peru, India and Africa––all over the world other Christians are praying for you! You are not alone in this spiritual warfare. If there is anything you are going through, a deep overwhelming trial that has made you feel like an Island, please know in your heart for sure you are not alone––people are praying and interceding for you.
Think about it. Paul was often in prison, and, at times, he felt alone, but he was not alone. Listen to Paul’s account of abandonment, loneliness, and then the reassurance that he was certainly not alone:
At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion (2 Timothy 4:16-17).
Who was standing with Paul? The Lord! Have you ever felt all alone, abandoned, and forsaken by friends and loved ones? Trust that the Lord is with you; hold on to His promise––fear not, for I am with you....
Great eagles fly alone; great lions hunt alone; great souls walk alone-alone with God. Such loneliness is hard to endure, and impossible to enjoy unless God accompanied....
