Ephesians 5:15-16 (NLT)

"So be careful how you live, not as fools but as those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity for doing good in these evil days."

Make the most of opportunities that come your way today!

Previously in Poland, about 70 people who struggle with alcohol problems heard the good news that there is one who understands them and can help. They had come to 3 days of special meetings for Ostroda Sobriety Days, led by Zbigniew Chojnaki, Ambassador for Christ International's director in Poland.

The motto of the evangelistic meetings was "Jesus is a friend and never will leave you alone if you want to be with him." Every night after the meetings, several alcoholics asked for prayer and gave their life to Jesus.

One young man, 38 years old, came to the meeting on Saturday and that night he repented of his sin and gave his life to Christ. After he prayed, he looked very happy-later someone said that he had never smiled so much in his life. But unexpectedly, on the following Sunday morning, he was found dead in his bed at the Ostroda Camp. Though he didn't realize it, the young man had come to the Savior in the last hours of his life.

God has given each of us 24 hours each day to live for him. But he hasn't told us how many of those days will be available to us. When it appears that life will be shorter than expected, many people are filled with regret at the important tasks they put off. The most important, of course, is developing our relationship with our God, the source of everything good in existence and the one who created us to be his beloved children. Next comes loving the people around us. As Jesus said, the most important commandments are loving God completely, others compassionately and ourselves correctly. Is there anything in your relationship with your Lord or with others that you have been putting off?
