10 Habitual Sins Women Especially Struggle With

Chara Donahue

Beginning a discussion about sins can often feel overwhelming, but we need to consistently, humbly invite God to search us for anything within us that is an offense to him. Once we can see it, we can fight it. John Owen instructed believers in The Mortification of Sin to, “be killing sin or it will be killing you.” Sin is serious, but the good news for the believer is it has been atoned for. Isaiah 1:18 illustrates this beautifully: “‘Come now, let us settle the matter,’ says the LORD. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.’” Women and men were both made in God’s image and both struggle with making ungodly decisions. But since men and women were created differently, the same sins can show up in various shades. We are going to take a close look at ten of these sins—once we can see it, we can fight it.
