A Quote and a Prayer

Dr. Ray Pritchard

I would advise no one to send his child where the Holy Scriptures are not supreme. Every institution that does not unceasingly pursue the study of God's word becomes corrupt…. I greatly fear that the universities, unless they teach the Holy Scriptures diligently and impress them on the young students, are wide gates to hell.

--Martin Luther

O Lord, your Word is holy and true. Your Word will stand when everything built by man collapses into the dust. Heaven and earth will pass away but your Word will last forever. Thank you that in this world of changing values and moral confusion, we have the truth because your Word is truth.

Make us men and women live by your Word. Give us hungry hearts to believe and know and understand and obey all that you have said. Create us in a holy desire to be people of the Book. May we believe all that you have said, and may we live so that others find it easy to believe in you.

Our Father, we ask a holy anointing upon all who preach your Word today. Grant to each pastor, each preacher, each evangelist, clarity, power, boldness, compassion, and zeal to explain your truth. And give your people ears to hear and hearts to obey. Lord, we ask you to reclaim those churches that have drifted from your Word. Bring them back to the sure foundation of eternal revelation.

Give tongues of fire to preach you Word. Do it, Lord, and do it today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
