Just received this email from a man in my church:
Hi Pastor Ray,
I wanted to share something with you that happened to Paula and me after
church yesterday. In your sermon you talked about people seeing God through us and Calvary Memorial Church. Well, after church we went to the Cozy Corner Restaurant [our favorite after church hangout] and I was looking over the bulletin. when one of our favorite waitresses, Mary Ann, brought our menu's she saw and bulletin and said "Oh, you two go to Calvary, no wonder you are such nice people." I thought you would enjoy hearing about this.
Take care and God Bless, Ray Sherman
Somewhere I remember hearing about a child who prayed like this: "Dear God, please make all the bad people good, and all the good people nice. Amen."
Not a bad prayer. Sometimes we make evangelism difficult because, although we claim to be good, we're not always very nice.
Being nice isn't the whole Christian life, but it's not a bad place to begin.
