You shall not commit adultery.

                   --Exodus 20:14

What has been termed a sexual revolution has certainly precipitated a moral earthquake resulting in gigantic losses and devastating consequences in our society. The destruction is all around us and we can see it in the increase of STDs, the plague of AIDS, and the collapse the family.

As a result of this so-called sexual revolution, abortion-on-demand kills millions of innocent unborn babies each year, homosexuality and other forms of sexual perversion are now the common way of life, and family values are now in greater jeopardy than every before. Among all of this, it may surprise you to know that God is not against sex—He invented it.

Beginning with Adam and Eve, God invented the relationship between a man and a woman, both physically and spiritually deeming that the two were to be one flesh in body, soul, and spirit. No longer would man live independently, but now he could live intimately within the confines of sharing life together with a woman. God performed the very first wedding ceremony there in the Garden of Eden.

This is why God is so interested in preserving and protecting this type of relationship between two people. The bonding of two lives is so beautiful and so blessed of God that He has given us a specific commandment to protect it. God commands that we are not to pollute or adulterate the marriage relationship with impurity and immorality.

Man’s nature is to pollute the gifts and graces of God. He’s given us the act of physical intimacy as His gift, and yet, mankind takes it and turns it into something unholy and tainted. In order to help you guard your heart and keep it pure before God from this day forward: recognize your potential for moral failure, realize that you don’t have to give in to moral sin, resolve to be pure, restrain the flesh in every area, run from evil, resist the devil, and rely on the Holy Spirit and God’s Word to keep you pure and renewed.

RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PURITY ARE NOT WHAT GETS US TO HEAVEN.

IT IS ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD THAT WE CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE
