Twila Paris Tour

One of the most popular female Christian artists, {{Twila Paris}}, is set to embark on the Winter leg of her highly successful "True North" tour, in support of her recent Sparrow Records' project of the same name. The tour will continue to feature award-winning Myrrh recording artist {{Fernando Ortega}} and a unique format, which includes local choirs and orchestras from each city joining with the band.

Paris is best known for her effortless versatility as both a successful recording artist and a respected worship leader during her stellar 19-year career. Her many accomplishments include 29 number one singles and three Gospel Music Association Dove awards for Female Vocalist of the Year. ==True North== is Paris' fifteenth project, her first Adult Contemporary recording in nearly three years. Veteran musician {{Charlie Peacock}}, who has previously worked with such artists as {{Avalon}}, {{Audio Adrenaline}}, and {{Margaret Becker}}, produced the project, making it the first such collaboration between two of the most respected individuals in the Christian Music industry.

According to Paris, the idea for the "True North" tour arose out of a previous experience that made a lasting impression. "1998's ==Perennial== video featured two choirs and an orchestra," she explains. "Ever since then, I've wanted to recreate that experience in a live concert." While the first half of the True North evening showcases music from the new project and select favorites from the past, the latter includes more worship music and features local children and adult choirs, as well as an orchestra, from each city. The idea has been tremendously successful, with promoters labeling the "True North" tour as more of an event than a typical concert, and with sold out performances in over a dozen cities.

Dove Award winning performer and songwriter Ortega has also spent years ministering to the church through worship music and as a recording artist. The release of ==This Bright Hour==, his 1997 debut for Myrrh, brought him widespread acclaim built on the long-standing reputation he had gained through his work as a classical pianist and songwriter. His most recent Myrrh project, ==The Breaking of the Dawn==, produced two of the top five songs played on Inspirational radio in 1999, including the number one Inspirational Song of the Year, "Lord of Eternity."

Ortega, who was greeted with multiple standing ovations during the fall portion of the "True North" tour, will release his new Myrrh project, ==Home==, in February 2000. Produced by John Andrew Schreiner, ==Home== was recorded with a live band (a first for Ortega) and continues his tradition of poetic lyrics and folk-influenced melodies. The first single from ==Home==, "This Good Day," will release to both Adult Contemporary and Inspirational radio in February.
