Americans Lose Trust in Hillary Clinton as Jeb Bush Surrenders GOP Frontrunner Status

Hillary Clinton’s ratings have dropped, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll.

 

According to the poll, Clinton has fallen 5 points for a total of 12 points in the last year in ratings for honesty and trustworthiness. In a head-to-head matchup with Jeb Bush, Clinton leads 47 percent to Bush’s 44 percent. Two months ago, Clinton had 53 percent and Bush had 41 percent.

 

In a poll of the other GOP contenders, Bush has fallen to 10 percent. Scott Walker and Rand Paul each have 11 percent. Marco Rubio also has 10 percent. Mike Huckabee has 9 percent. Ted Cruz and Ben Carson each have 8 percent support.

 

Bush hasn’t yet announced his candidacy, but he’s expected to make the announcement later this month. Also, Donald Trump is expected to make his candidacy announcement on June 16. According to polling, 71 percent of Americans view Trump as unfavorably. 

 

Also according to the poll, 45 percent of Americans see Clinton favorably. It was 67 percent during her time as secretary of state.

 

About 49 percent of Americans think Clinton understands their problems compared to Bush’s 35 percent.
